Nepal Police hosted the 23rd Interpol's Regional Conference to brings together top cops from across Asia and the South Pacific regions in Kathmandu. Nepal Police had last hosted a similar conference during Panchayat regime in 1989 under the leadership of Hem Bahadur Singh, the last Inspector General of Police to wear 'khaki' uniform.Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday said no single country in the world could be complacent on its sole capacity to address challenges of organised crimes. Inaugurating the 23rd Asian Regional Conference of International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister remarked that there wre many challenges which “transcend national boundaries and have regional and international dimensions.” “New threats and challenges have emerged in the realm of law enforcement and crime control,” he said, “With a click of a fingertip; crime can be committed from anonymous places with anonymity.”
